PATI 2024 Results Workshop at the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, Enriches Knowledge of Cultural Heritage and Ancient Humans
Denpasar - Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (Unud) held the 2024 Indonesian Integrated Archaeological Research Results Workshop (PATI) at the Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium Denpasar Campus, Monday (9/12/2024). The workshop activity presented two speakers, namely Dr. Herry Yogaswara, MA (Head of BRIN Arbastra OR) and Dr. Agus Tri Hascaryo, ST., SS., M.Sc. (PATI Expert Council/Lecturer in Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Islamic University of Indonesia).
Previously, PATI 2024 activities had been carried out involving 7 universities, namely Jambi University, University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Unud, Hasanuddin University, Halu Oleo University and the Indonesian Institute of Arts Surakarta which was coordinated by the Archeology Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University in Manyarejo Village, District Plupuh Sragen Regency, Central Java from 5 to 14 August 2024 so that this workshop becomes a forum for conveying the PATI results so that they can be published and disseminated to academic circles.
Chief Executive Rochtri Agung Bawono said that PATI activities had been carried out since 2008 and were sponsored by the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation and Udayana University was mandated as the implementer in 2023 and 2024, located in the Sangiran Cultural Heritage Area. The implementation of PATI is divided into several groups, namely Excavation, Conservation, CRM (Cultural Resource Management) and Creative Work. He hopes that through this activity he will get input as evaluation material for the activities that have been carried out.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Unud, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, Ph.D, in his speech conveyed the implementation of PATI activities and this was an implementation of collaboration between the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Unud and the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation. This activity is very encouraging because it not only involves lecturers but also students. The Dean also thanked the foundation, resource persons, participants and committee for carrying out this activity.
Vice Chairperson of the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation, Sitie Indrawati Djojohadikusumo, in her speech expressed her pride in holding this very important event, which is clear evidence of the spirit of collaboration and synergy in efforts to explore, preserve and develop knowledge archaeological knowledge in Indonesia. Through PATI we can uncover past civilizations, understand the nation's historical roots and build a strong national identity. Apart from that, holding PATI is an effort to produce potential prehistorian experts and the foundation continues to be committed to supporting this.
Rector of Unud Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech said that Udayana University, as one of the oldest universities in Bali, has become a center for higher education that is committed to preserving local cultural and environmental values. The Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, especially the Archeology Study Program, is one of the important pillars in developing studies and research based on the excavation and preservation of Indonesia's cultural heritage. With an extensive academic network and various collaborative programs, Udayana University continues to strive to become an educational institution that contributes to building a sustainable future for the nation.
"Today I feel proud and honored to be able to open this workshop, which is the result of extraordinary collaboration from seven universities in Indonesia, including Udayana University, with the support of the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation. This activity not only shows academic excellence, but also strengthens relations between institutions, students, and interdisciplinary experts," said the Rector of Unud.
The Rector also appreciated the main aim of this workshop, namely to publish research results, provide academic learning, and become a forum for scientific expression for students and lecturers. In the spirit of sharing knowledge and experience, we can together build a deeper understanding of the richness of Indonesian culture.
