Celebrating the 62nd Anniversary, Udayana University Shares with the Tat Twam Asi Denpasar Orphanage
Denpasar - The 62nd Anniversary Committee of Udayana University (Unud) visited the Tat Twam Asi Orphanage Denpasar in the context of community service activities for the 62nd Anniversary of Unud "Unud Sharing with the Tat Twam Asi Orphanage Denpasar" on Wednesday 18 September 2024. Committee The anniversary, led by the Chair and Coordinator of the Community Service Section, was received by the Deputy Chair of the Foundation and Chair of the Orphanage.
In this activity, the Anniversary Committee handed over assistance in the form of basic necessities and cash which it is hoped will help support the operations of the Orphanage and interact with the orphanage children to give them enthusiasm to continue their education. The Tat Twam Asi Orphanage has been established for 37 years, namely in 1987. It was initiated by the Governor of Bali Ida Bagus Mantra to help children who have dropped out of school.
Deputy Chair of the Foundation, Mrs. Made Muka took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Anniversary Committee for choosing the Tat Twam Asi Orphanage as a place to carry out ties of affection with the orphanage's children. Through this opportunity, his party also briefly explained the existence of the orphanage which was founded because of the large number of children dropping out of school in Bali Province during the leadership of Bali Governor Ida Bagus Mantra. This not only happened in Bali but also almost throughout Indonesia at that time. Currently the orphanage has 37 foster children and since 1987 it has been able to accommodate 388 and each year it can only accommodate 50 children.
Initially, the orphanage program was to send children to school until they graduated from high school and when they were established, they would be returned to their parents. Those who are accommodated in this orphanage are specifically for girls because being mixed with boys is quite risky. Apart from that, there are also children who are sent to college through collaboration with several private higher education institutions. There is also one child who is studying at Udayana University with the help of foster parents. He hopes that this love activity will not only be carried out now but will also be sustainable in the future.
Chairman of the Committee for the 62nd Anniversary of Unud Dr. On this occasion, Ketut Adi Atmika expressed his gratitude to the orphanage management who had given him the opportunity to carry out community service through this charity activity. Apart from this activity, as a series of celebrations for the Anniversary there are also several other activities.

Through this opportunity, the party also informed that there were several scholarships that could be utilized by orphanage children who wanted to continue their education at Udayana University.
