Udayana University Holds Inter-Campus Field Tennis Championship, Celebrates 62nd Anniversary
Denpasar - Udayana University (Unud) held an Inter-Campus Field Tennis Championship at the Ngurah Rai GOR Tennis Field in Denpasar, 21-22 September 2024. This Inter-Campus Field Tennis Championship was attended by participants from 7 Universities and 1 Government Agency, namely the Ganesha Education University, Ngurah Rai University, Indonesian Hindu University Denpasar, National Education University, Bali State Polytechnic, Ganesa Tennis Association Bandung Institute of Technology Alumni Association (PTGIAITB), Ngoerah Hospital and Udayana University.
The Field Tennis Championship involving lecturers, staff and campus tennis groups was organized by the Udayana University 62nd Anniversary Committee in order to commemorate and interpret the Anniversary through positive activities as well as providing a forum for competition and friendship between fans or field tennis players within the campus and surroundings.
The category is Doubles aged over 45 years. The number of players is 32 people plus 16 reserve players, involving 20 referees and line judges, and a committee of 15 people. The activity began with an acceptance speech by Prof. Dr. Dewa Gede Ary Subagia, ST. MT and then the Championship was opened by the Chair of PELTI Bali, Doctor Tangkas, Sp.OG.
Chief Executive I Gusti Agung Kade Suriadi, ST., MT said that sport is a means to lead a better life through health, togetherness, as well as fighting spirit and sportsmanship. One of the most popular sports in society is field tennis.
Field tennis is also a sport that is widely played among lecturers and employees of higher education institutions. Therefore, in conjunction with the 62nd Anniversary of Udayana University, the "Inter-Campus Field Tennis Championship" was held to increase friendship between higher education institutions in Indonesia and also to further promote the sport of Field Tennis.
He also revealed that the Inter-Campus Tennis Championships had run smoothly and what was most proud of was that Unud won 1st place in this inter-campus tennis championship.
