Becoming Host of Abdidaya Ormawa 2024, Udayana University Holds Training for 125 Liaison Officers

Denpasar - Udayana University (Unud) held the 2024 Abdidaya Ormawa Liaison Officer (LO) Training at the Wiswakarma Hall, Engineering Faculty Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Monday (14/10/2024). This LO training was carried out in preparation for Abdidaya Ormawa 2024 where Udayana University was the host.

Abdi Daya Student Organization (Ormawa) 2024, an event to showcase student contributions and innovation in community service. This event will be a forum for students from various universities in Indonesia to showcase the community service initiatives they have developed through the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa).

The training was opened directly by the Rector of Udayana University and attended by 125 students who were assigned to be LO Abdidaya Ormawa 2024. Also attending this activity were the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, Chair and Vice Chair of Abdidaya Ormawa 2024, Coordinator and Vice Coordinator of Registration, Technical Meeting and LO, Student Affairs Interest, Reasoning and Information Coordinator and Sub-coordinator. This training presented three speakers, namely Dr. Sri Wahyudi, S.Pd.M.Pd, M.C.E (Lecturer at Jember State University), Ahmad Yusron (Student Coordinator for LO Abdidaya Ormawa 2023) and Dr. Drs. I Wayan Santiyasa, M.Si (Chair of Abdidaya Ormawa 2024) with moderator Dr. Nyoman Ariana, SST.Par., M.Par.

Rector of Unud Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D in his speech said that the aim of this training is how to become an LO, who will be the front guard, information center and liaison for universities that will be present at Udayana University. Because you are on the front line, you must be prepared as well as possible. Through this opportunity, the Rector expressed his gratitude to the Abdidaya Team and the Student Affairs Bureau and other committees who have carried out these preparations from registration to the LO selection process.

These LOs are expected to have a commitment to present the face of Udayana University to the universities that will attend and of course there are things that must be followed such as communication, coordination and intelligence in managing emotions and time because changes will always be there and occur quickly. The Rector advised to study a lot and ask lots of questions if there is something you don't understand.

The speakers who attended were from Jember State University who had LO experience who were very alert in providing information to Abdidaya 2023 participants. LOs must be able to give a positive impression from the way they communicate and provide information to make it easier for participants. Of course there will also be many challenges and you have to be smart in carrying and looking after yourself.

"My hope as leader is that Abdidaya 2024 will be successful at Udayana University and Bali is the center for people learning Hospitality and this must be upheld," said the Rector.

The Rector added that becoming an LO is also a learning process that can be applied in the world of work, how to manage emotions, manage time and this is a learning process for students. The Rector hopes that these LOs can take part in the training well and together make Abdidaya Ormawa 2024 a success at Udayana University.

The material provided in this training is tips and practical ways to become a professional Abdidaya LO, sharing experiences of being an Abdidaya LO, developing soft skills for Abdidaya Ormawa Liaison Officers as well as task distribution, structure and technical explanations for LOs.
