Udayana University Hosts the 12th AWOC/21st KJWOC International Conference

The Faculty of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Udayana University (Unud) in collaboration with the Ocean Color Community JAMSTEC - Japan and Yamguchi University held the International Conference The 12th Asian Workshop on Ocean Color (AWOC)/21st Korea – Japan Workshop on Ocean Color (KJWOC) at the Nusantara Room Denpasar Campus Agrocomplex Building, Wednesday (23/10/2024). This event was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs representing the Chancellor of Udayana University.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja in his speech said that this workshop activity aims to encourage progress, stimulate innovation, and strengthen knowledge exchange between researchers throughout Asia.

In line with Udayana University's efforts to become a world-class university, this workshop offers an excellent platform for lecturers and students to engage, learn, and share research with leading experts in the field of marine color science.

Topics in this workshop include several topics including Satellite, Drone, and Aircraft-based Ocean Color Observations, Ocean Color Algorithm Development, In-water Bio-optical Properties, Applications in Fisheries, Coastal Ocean Monitoring, Climate Change Impacts, Numerical Modeling, Validation and Atmospheric Corrections, Hyperspectral Data, and AI Applications for Ocean and River Studies. This activity will be held for two days, namely 23-24 October 2024.

Furthermore, the Vice Rector hopes that through this workshop activity he can maintain and strengthen the relationships and collaboration that have existed so far.
