Jimbaran - Saturday (04/05/2024), the Environmental Care and Preservation Action under the Department of Social and Environmental Affairs of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Udayana University (Unud) held Udayana Clean Up Day 1 with the main theme Awake, Arise, Adopt the World. Udayana Clean Up Day 1 was the first activity of the Group I Environmental Care and Conservation volunteer movement.
Chairman of BEM Udayana University, I Wayan Tresna Suwardiana, in his speech said that true service is a sacrifice, but again, this activity is a service that is pure from our conscience, wanting to go directly into society so that we can bring benefits.
Meanwhile Wayan Warnawa, as chairman of the Fishermen's Awareness Group for the Jimbaran Beach area, also delivered his speech. In his speech, he thanked the students as the younger generation who still care about the surrounding environment. He also hopes that the spirit of service possessed by the students can continue and be developed in society in the future.
This event was then continued with the handover of donations in the form of two trash cans. The hope is that with the addition of rubbish bins around Jimbaran Beach, the public and visitors will be able to throw rubbish in the right place and help keep the beach clean.
The event continued with clean up activities which were divided into three groups. The clean up point is around the fishermen's base. All volunteers, APEL volunteers, invited Udayana University BEM functionaries, and invited BEM or SENAT 13 faculties participated in cleaning and sorting rubbish in the clean up area.
