Commemorating National Education Day 2024, Udayana University Holds a Flag Ceremony

Udayana University (Unud) held a Flag Ceremony in commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2024 in the courtyard of the Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Thursday (02/05/2024). This year's National Education Day commemoration has the theme Move Together, Continue Free Learning.

The National Education Day Commemoration Flag Ceremony at Unud was attended by all levels of leadership both at the University level and at the faculty level, as well as representatives from the academic community including teaching staff, educational staff and involving students, especially the student regiment (Menwa) and the UKM Marching Band of Unud.

Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim in his speech commemorating National Education Day which was read by the Rector of Udayana University Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, MT., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN.Eng. as Master of Ceremonies said that it is not an easy thing to transform a very large system. It is not a simple task to change perspectives on the learning process.

At the same time, the pandemic provides an opportunity to accelerate change. By working together, fighting together to recover and rise again to be much stronger. Now, we are starting to feel the changes taking place all around us, being moved together with simultaneous and unison steps. A new face of Indonesian education and culture is being built together with the Freedom to Learn movement.

Five years is not a short time to carry out the task of leading the Independent Learning movement. However, five years is also not a long time to make comprehensive changes. The task is not finished just here, everything that has been carried out must be continued as a continuous movement.

In this National Education Day commemoration ceremony, the 30 Year Satya Lencana Karya Satya awards were also handed over and awarded to three Civil Servants at Udayana University, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Sc. from the Faculty of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Dr. Putu Saroyini Piatrini M.M., Ak. from the Faculty of Economics and Business, and I Gusti Agung Ayu Swandewi from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences.
