Participating for the First Time, Udayana University Holds Ria Statistics Internal Selection and Data Science Festival 2024

Vice Rector for Student Affairs at Udayana University (Unud), Prof. Ketut Sudarsana, had the opportunity to give a speech as well as open the 2024 Ria Statistics Internal Selection and Data Science Festival (SATRIA DATA) activities on Thursday (25/4/2024).

This activity is a competition in the field of Science and Data organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, in collaboration with Telkom University and participated for the first time by Udayana University.

However, Prof. Ketut Sudarsana hopes that the participants who pass the selection can make achievements and have high commitment in taking part in this competition. The 2024 Udayana University Internal Statistics Ria and Data Science Festival (SATRIA DATA) Selection activity is very important in optimizing participants who will later take part in competitions at the national level.

By participating in this competition, it is hoped that students will be able to improve their ability to cooperate, collaborate, divide tasks and communicate which will provide soft skills for student progress and provision for leadership of the nation and state in the future.

Based on a report from the Chief Executive of Selection, I Putu Tedy Indrayana, S.Pd., M.Sc., this series of internal selection activities has started on March 15 2024. The theme this year is Synergy of Statistics and Science Talent: Building Collaboration Achieve in Data Science. This activity takes the form of a competition that measures students' abilities in the fields of Statistics, Data Science, and their applications.

Not only hard skills in the fields of statistics and data science will be competed, but also soft skills such as communication, visualization, collaboration and creativity in solving complex problems. There are 4 (four) types of competitions, namely: 1. National Statistics Competition (NSC) 2. Statistics Essay Competition (SEC) 3. Statistics Infographic Competition (SIC) 4. Big Data Challenge (BDC).
