Committee Chair Sabrina Ratu Cahya in her report conveyed the theme raised in this Members' Conference to accommodate two important issues currently facing Indonesian society, namely the issue of education and agrarian reform. Education is considered the main foundation in developing quality human resources. Meanwhile, agrarian reform is an issue for realizing justice and prosperity for all people. It is hoped that the implementation of this forum can strengthen relations between BEM members throughout Bali Dewata Dwipa and build solid synergy and collaboration to achieve sustainable change and have a positive impact on society. This Member Deliberation will take place over two days, namely 3 and 4 April 2024.
Chairman of BEM Unud I Wayan Tresna Suwardiana expressed his welcome at Udayana University to BEM representatives from Bali Dewata Dwipa who were present. At the time of the consolidation, BEM Unud was trusted to host the Bali Dewata Dwipa BEM Alliance Member Conference. The hope is that by holding this member deliberation we can formulate a future direction, how the BEM alliance will move this year. We are moving from evaluations that were felt in previous years so that it is not just an annual evaluation. We are really improving it, starting from formulating the direction of movement, formulating the roots of the problems that we will guard later, and the management that will be the driving force of this alliance. The Chair of BEM Unud also hopes that the BEM Alliance can always be solid in presenting movements for the people of Bali and Indonesia.
Central Coordinator of the All-Bali BEM Alliance Dewata Dwipa I Putu Agus Sugiantara (PNB) expressed his gratitude to Udayana University and the committee for preparing facilities for the activities of the All-Bali BEM Alliance Dewata Dwipa. In this activity, accountability will be given regarding what has been done in one year of management and will also carry out an evaluation of what has been done and strengthen ties of brotherhood to strengthen future steps. It is hoped that this activity can run smoothly and that the selected Central Coordinator will be able to carry out his duties as well as possible.
Meanwhile the Vice Rector Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech expressed the hope that this alliance could continue because it was a momentum to collaborate with each other in accordance with the theme of this year's member deliberation. The theme raised this year focuses on issues of education and agrarian reform, and perhaps there are still many issues that can be discussed in the future to improve the welfare of society. There are still many problems faced by this nation, let's work together to dig up the data and find solutions to improve these conditions. On this occasion the Vice Rector also quoted a term, namely 'with data we open our eyes, with data we open our minds, with data we open our hearts', from existing data we can empathize with existing conditions. The Vice Rector also invited students to learn to think critically and speak based on data.
