Participants are Enthusiastic about Taking Part in Japan Day 2024 which is Organized by the International Affairs Office of Udayana University
The International Affairs Office (KUI) of Udayana University (Unud) held Japan Day 2024 activities at the Nusantara Room, Agrokomplek Building, Unud Denpasar Campus, Saturday (16/03/2024). This activity is a collaboration between Udayana University through the International Affairs Office and the Alumni Association of Japan (Persada) and is fully supported by the Japanese Consulate General (Consulate General) in Denpasar and the Bali Japan Club.
Enthusiasm can be seen from the number of participants who attended this activity. Not only the Udayana University academic community, the Japan Day 2024 event was also attended by the university academic community and students in Bali.
Putu Ayu Asty Senja Pratiwi, Ph.D as the KUI Coordinator of Udayana University on this occasion said that the Japan Day 2024 activity took the theme of Introduction to Scholarship Information to Japan and aimed to strengthen friendly relations between Japan and Indonesia, especially the Balinese people, as well as providing information. scholarships and education to Japan for students. This activity was filled with various presentations and guidance regarding scholarship information, tips and tricks for life in Japan as well as testimonials from alumni who have studied in Japan with scholarship assistance from the Japanese government.
Apart from information on scholarships and education, the Japan Day 2024 activity also offers matching industries for people who are interested in working for Japanese companies and digging deeper information about this.
The topics presented by the speakers included, Life in Japan presented by the Chairman of Persada Bali, MEXT Scholarship presented by representatives of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Jakarta office and representatives of the Japanese Consul General in Denpasar, as well as MEXT Alumni Testimony.
Deputy Consulate General of Japan, Adachi Mayuko, in his speech said that the Japanese Consulate General in Denpasar really welcomed this activity. Many young Indonesians, especially Balinese, want to study in Japan, in line with the increasing popularity of Japanese technology and cultural products in Bali. It is hoped that after the Japan Day 2024 activities, more and more students from Bali will study in Japan, either through scholarship programs or independently.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana in his speech said that the Japan Day 2024 activities were very beneficial not only for the academic community at Udayana University but also for students and teachers from various schools and universities who were interested in continuing their studies and seeking life experience in Japan. Apart from that, the Rector also said that Udayana University has a long history of partnership and cooperation with Japan, where there are no less than 100 active MoUs and dozens of collaborations that have been and are being carried out between Udayana University and JICA as well as various educational institutions and the industrial world in Japan. aims to develop cooperation in both academic and non-academic fields.
"Of course, Udayana University has high hopes for the ability of its academic community to continue their higher education abroad, and of course we also very openly invite Japanese students to gain learning experience at Udayana University," said Prof. Ngakan.
