Udayana University Faculty of Agriculture Holds 2023 National Seminar on Bioscience and Biotechnology
The Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University (Unud) held the 2023 National Bioscience and Biotechnology Seminar, which took place in the Unud Postgraduate Hall, Wednesday (12/12/2023). The seminar was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya. This National Seminar is routinely held every year to commemorate the anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University.
In his speech, the Dean said that the aim of this seminar in general was to broaden horizons and build a strong national network, and specifically this seminar was expected to provide an understanding of the use of microscopes which have many roles in various fields including research. Through this seminar, you will be able to improve your skills in the field of biological research and add to the scientific work produced.
Kadek Wisma Yudha, S.P., M.P, as Chair of the Seminar Committee reported that this Seminar activity was carried out in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University and PT. Wadya Prima Mulia which was initiated by Prof. Wirawan and Yawarsa. On this occasion, a Cooperation Agreement was also signed between the Faculty of Agriculture and PT Wadya Prima Mulia. With this collaboration, it is hoped that activities will not only be limited to holding seminars, but can be the beginning of further collaboration focused on the role and use of microscopes such as training, basic identification workshops by collaborating with partner institutions to collaborate.
In the introduction to this National Seminar, Professor Wirawan as Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University delivered material entitled Research with Molecular and Microscopic Methods Providing Typical Data and Answering Mechanisms.
Apart from participants from the Faculty of Agriculture, this seminar was also attended by Syahrudin Agung Permana as a representative from PT. Wadya Prima Mulia, as well as the resource person who delivered the Company Profile Introduction and material entitled The Development of Microscopy Technique in Life Science Research. Another resource person is Dr. Anak Agung Gede Indraninggrat from Warmadewa University who delivered material entitled Bioprospecting Antimicrobial Potential of Bacillus sp. SMPRL2 associated with seaweeds Eucheuma cottonii, Fitria Dwi Ayuningtyas, Phd, who is the Head of the Olympus Bio Imaging Center Laboratory, Bandung Institute of Technology, who delivered material entitled Advanced Bioimaging using Confocal Laser Scanning.
Apart from that, there was also an internal resource person at Udayana University, namely Professor I Wayan Supartha, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University who delivered material entitled Invasive Insect Pest Outbreak in The Last Decade in Bali: Treated and Management, Putu Shinta Devi, SP., M.P, from Denpasar Quarantine Center, Dr. Gede Putu Supadmanaba, MSc, teaching staff at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and Galuh Setyanto Pradana who presented material entitled Applied Spectral Imagin: Advanced Microscopy and Digital Analysis for Health-Related Research.
