Tuesday, November 21 2023, at the Language Center of Udayana University, the opening ceremony of the Mandarin Language Course for Lecturers at Udayana University was held. This course is held in collaboration with the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) of Udayana University. This event was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Udayana University, Prof. Gede Rai Maya Temaja, Director of TCI China, Director of TCI Indonesia, Chair of Language Center, and participants from various faculties.
In his speech and opening the Mandarin Language Course at Udayana University, the Vice Rector said that Mandarin is very important for us, because Bali is a tourism destination with a large population of tourists from China, and the opportunities for collaboration with universities in China are also very large. It is hoped that the participants will benefit from this Mandarin language course, so that it will open up opportunities to learn more and develop themselves. The message is that participants can make the best use of the facilities for learning Chinese directly with native speakers.
Meanwhile Prof. Tao. as Director of TCI China, on this occasion, he introduced the Mandarin language teachers who will teach this course. This is the first course implemented by TCI Udayana University which takes place offline for Udayana University Lecturers.
On the same occasion, the Head of Language Center, Mrs. Sang Ayu Isnu Maharani said that Mandarin plays a role as a link between Indonesia and China, although initially it was intended for the Udayana University academic community, but this activity does not rule out the possibility that in the future it will be opened to the public. This course is held with funding that is fully supported by TCI, including facilities and infrastructure.
This opening event was continued with Mandarin Language Training supported by TCI Udayana University by presenting 2 (two) Mandarin language teachers, namely Ms. Lu Hongyan and Ms. Tu Na is a lecturer at Nanchang University.
