Udayana University Tourism Undergraduate Study Program Holds Guest Lecture "In Search Of Balance In Tourism"

The Bachelor of Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University (Unud) held a Guest Lecture by inviting Gadjah Mada University Lecturers, namely Made Andi Arsana, Ph.D. The guest lecture on the Crisis Management course took the theme "In Search of Balance in Tourism: Tourism between Technological Sophistication and a Touch of Humanity". This guest lecture was attended by around 200 students and lasted for 2.5 hours in the HD Building, Faculty of Tourism.

In his lecture presentation, Made Andi Arsana revealed that tourism is a sector that has a large economic impact on the Indonesian nation. In its development, tourism has not been spared from technological developments. According to Andi, there are at least 10 technological factors that influence the success of the tourism sector, including: VR (Virtual Realization) / AI, Mobile Technology, Transportation Advances, Drones, Social Media, 3D Video, Travel Applications, Biometric Technology, Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data Analytics.

Material related to the crisis management course which prioritizes students' critical thinking to think critically about changes in the tourism sector which can have positive and negative impacts. Students play a role in forming structured planning in the tourism sector to develop Indonesian tourism in a more advanced direction.

I Made Andi Arsana, also explained the importance of sophisticated technology developed by the Indonesian people in advancing tourism, and the need for cooperation between the community, stakeholders and also the government, and the importance of communication and relationships so that all activities that have been scheduled can be carried out well.
