36 Athletes from Udayana University Head to POMNAS XVIII in South Kalimantan
Jimbaran - Located in the Nation Room, Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Wednesday (11/10/2023) a training activity was held for Athletes and Coaches for the XVIII National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) which will be held in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan from 12 to 22 November 2023. There are 36 POMNAS XVIII Udayana University (Unud) athletes who will compete in nine sports, namely Athletics, Badminton, Chess, Karate, Kempo, Rock Climbing, Pencak Silat, Swimming and Taekwondo.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana in his direction congratulated the athletes who had qualified for POMNAS after competing with athletes from various participating universities in Bali. After this, of course you have to prepare both physically and mentally through today's debriefing. Later there will also be a release, where these athletes will represent BAPOMI Bali.
This POMNAS event is very prestigious where of course all provinces will send their best athletes. "We and also the coaches hope that these athletes will be helped with their preparations, both mental and physical preparation and training more intensively so that when the time comes, namely in competitions, their health will be maintained and in top condition," said the Vice Rector.
The XVII POMNAS in Padang coincided with PORPROV, so the athlete's stamina was not at its best and this year, because it is not at the same time, it is hoped that it will be better and more enthusiastic. With the current team, it is hoped that they can achieve achievements and reach a top five ranking. For this reason, everyone is enthusiastic and achieves and wins medals.
Meanwhile, Chair of USCC Unud Dr. I Wayan Santiyasa added that currently the best athletes at Udayana University will compete in POMNAS so they hope to have a winning spirit and maintain sportsmanship as an athlete. With a winning spirit in competing, it is hoped that Udayana University can make its name proud. "We have about one month, so we can use it to continue improving our capabilities," said the Chair of the USCC.
