Grand Final of Jegeg Bagus Udayana, Closing the Series of Porseni 61st Anniversary of Udayana University

The Student Executive Board (BEM) of Udayana University (Unud) held an Achievement Award Evening as well as the 2023 Jegeg Bagus Udayana Grand Final as the end of the 61st Anniversary series of Udayana University at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Unud Jimbaran Campus, Sunday (08/10/2023).

Present at this event were the Rector of Udayana University, accompanied by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, the Deans, the Head of the Bureau and the leadership in the student affairs sector, the Chairman and secretary of the Anniversary, the Chairman of the BEM and his staff, the Chairman of the DPM and his Staff, the Chairman of the BEM/Faculty Student Senate; Head of DPM/BPM Faculty and Udayana University students.

Committee Chair I Wayan Tresna Suwardiana reported that this year's Porseni activities featured 12 competitions, and currently 11 competitions have been completed, and the final competition is the Jegeg Bagus Udayana Grand Final. Preparations for Porseni were carried out for approximately two months and the implementation of Porseni has been going on for a month now. Suwardiana, representing the committee, apologized for the shortcomings in organizing Porseni this year, and this will be used as an evaluation in the next implementation. And thanks are expressed to all parties who support the implementation of Porseni in 2023.

It is hoped that Porseni can provide usefulness and a moment of euphoria for Udayana University students as well as a moment of reflection. Whoever becomes the General Champion will be able to feel together, and not get too caught up in the euphoria, thereby causing friction between faculties. The hope is that the friction that has occurred during the month can be calmed and we will become one at Udayana University.

As Chair of BEM Unud I Putu Bagus Padmanegara expressed his congratulations and thanks to the 13 Faculties who were present regardless of the final results of this Porseni competition. On this occasion, Padma also expressed his disappointment because every year there is a slight decrease and some students attend only because they want to get SKP or just due to prestige battles between faculties, and also related to the occurrence of disputes between faculties which of course will be detrimental to the committee and the students at the next level who will difficult to obtain permits for activities. In fact, Porseni Dies aims to find the best athletes or new seeds. The essence of Dies is to develop space between faculties to attract athletes and artists.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng expressed his gratitude because the series of anniversary events which culminated on 29 September 2023 have gone according to expectations, as well as thanks to all parties and the academic community for their support in implementing the 2023 Anniversary. The 61st Anniversary celebration involved all students, lecturers, staff, alumni, collaboration partners all working together in a family event. And now we have arrived at a very prestigious and interesting event among students, namely Porseni, one of which is the Jegeg Bagus Udayana competition. Hopefully this competition will not only provide great meaning for the participants, but also for the Unud academic community. Whoever wins will be able to take the mission to the provincial, national and even world levels, where this event was born and initiated by students.

Let's remain enthusiastic about presenting achievements in various fields to honor our alma mater. Responding to a report from the committee chairman regarding friction between faculties caused by fanaticism, the Rector advised that fanaticism in each faculty is necessary to generate competition but don't go too far, so that this can be detrimental to our institution. Currently, the infrastructure is not yet adequate and hopefully the realization of the infrastructure can be realized in the future. The Rector receives input for the improvement and progress of Udayana University in the future, and so that Unud is not left behind by other universities because it only focuses internally, let's improve communication between universities both in Bali and at the national level.

The Rector hopes that students can take advantage of the prestigious government programs offered such as IISMA, MBKM to explore student abilities.
