Series of Community Service for the 61st Anniversary, LPPM Unud Submits Analysis of the Quality and Utilization of Water Resources in Penarungan Badung Village

In the context of the 61st Anniversary of Udayana University, the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Udayana University (Unud) held Community Service activities in Penarungan Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, with the theme "Analysis and Utilization of Water Resources in Penarungan Village ” took place at the Penarungan Village Head's Office, Friday 8 September 2023. The service activity presented two speakers, namely the Head of the Distribution Section, Perumda Air Minum Tirta Mangutama, Badung, I Ketut Gede Suryawan, ST., MSi and the Head of the LPPM Unud Service Team Ir. Kadek Diana Harmayani, ST., MT., PhD., IPM., ASEAN.Eng.

Present at the service activity was the Head of the Badung Regency Village Community Empowerment Service, Chair and Secretary of LPPM Unud, Prebekel and Penarungan village officials, the service team, Chair of the Unud Anniversary, LPPM Unud staff, representatives of the Penarungan village community and several interested stakeholders so that the community knew the results of the analysis and receive education about the use of water sources so that follow-up actions can be taken.

Chairman of LPPM Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suarsana, MSi. explained that based on problem identification and potential analysis from KKN PPM and MBKM Village Building/KKNT students who were placed in Penarungan Village, several problems and potentials emerged that needed to be resolved, followed by the results of student discussions with the Village Head and Village Officials, the discovery of water source problems that needed to be resolved. carry out further solutions. So, LPPM Unud assigned a Service Team from the Environmental Engineering Study Program to carry out studies related to the analysis and utilization of water sources.

Prebekel Penarungan, Ni Wayan Kerni, SH thanked Udayana University for facilitating springs in Penarungan Village, there are three springs, namely Beji Paluh Park, Beji Banjar Guming Park and Beji Taman Sari Park. It is hoped that knowing the results of the water quality analysis in Penarungan Village can be used by the community for their daily activities. Furthermore, the Secretary of Penarungan Village, Gede Gumatra, ST, who also accompanied the Village Head, explained the hope that in the future, with good quality water sources, Penarungan Village can develop bottled mineral water from potential existing water sources and managed by BUMDes as a source of village income.

The Head of Service, Kadek Diana Harmayani, PhD., explained that the purpose of this service was to (1) Analyze the quality of water sources in Penarungan Village, (2) Analyze the quantity of water sources in Penarungan Village and (3) Analyze the water source utilization system in Penarungan Village . So, from the results of this analysis, suggestions and recommendations related to water source processing can be provided to the Village and the Penarungan Village Community.
