BEM of Udayana University Holds UKM Udayana Expo 2023, Introduces UKM to New Students
The Student Executive Board (BEM) of Udayana University (Unud) held the Udayana Expo 2023 UKM located in the Parking Area of the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, 7 to 10 August 2023. The activity with the theme "Make Your Choices, Develop Your Potential" was attended by SMEs, Communities and Associations in Unud. The opening of the Udayana Expo was marked by the release of balloons into the air by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs together with the Head of BEM and related invitees.
Committee Chairman I Gusti Ngurah Arya Wira Pangestu in his report said that the expo event was carried out by the Interests, Talents and Achievements Division of BEM Unud, where in this event several activities were held such as student activity unit exhibitions, regional association forum exhibitions, religious forum exhibitions and sharing sessions and live performance. The purpose of this event is none other than to increase the interests and talents of Udayana University students both in terms of academic and non-academic.
"By holding this activity, it is hoped that later it will be able to make Udayana University students continue to have enthusiasm to increase their interests and talents by increasing their potential. The total participants involved in this event were 45 total committees, 34 student development units, 10 regional associations and 6 forums religion with a 4-day implementation period from August 7 to August 10 at the Rectorate of Udayana University," he said.
The Head of BEM Unud Putu Bagus Padmanegara said that the activity held by BEM was a series of PKKMB 2023 activities which in the end were presented as a space for student development where to this day each UKM has almost no members. There are many UKM but their existence is lacking, so this activity was held with the hope that each UKM will be able to provide a platform for every student of Udayana University. This activity is not just an expo but there is continuity so that later new students will be able to be given space for development in terms of ormawa and its sustainability. When they attend as Ormawa or UKM members, they are able to achieve optimally, not just joining or looking for SKP.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana in his remarks revealed that the UKM Udayana Expo was the first time that was held by Udayana University and this was a very good thing and his party really supports this activity whose aim is to introduce UKM-UKM in Unud to new students and also does not rule out the possibility for old students who do not know about UKM in Unud. So it needs to be introduced so that it can discuss asking the ins and outs of these existing SMEs. Students who have passed SNPMB already have their own talents so they can immediately enter their UKM.
"We hope that today until the 10th there will be many new students who will become members of UKM. Yes, we hope that more and more new students will join UKM so that the UKM will not be in suspended animation," said the Vice Rector.
With this activity, it is hoped that all students will take part in internships or become members of UKM so that the talents or passion of new students are honed there. It is hoped that the coaches and heads of UKM can facilitate new students so that they can really take part in their respective UKM and excel. It is expected that every year UKM must have achievements.
