BAN-PT Assessors Conduct Online Field Assessments in the Masters of Environmental Science Study Program at Udayana University

Denpasar - The BAN-PT Assessor Team conducted an online field assessment at the Masters of Environmental Science Study Program at Udayana University (Unud), Monday (3/7/2023). The opening of the assessment was attended by the Rector of Udayana University, Chair of the Senate, Head of Institution, Head of UPT Library, USDI, Plt. The Postgraduate Director and staff, Study Program Coordinators, Professors, Lecturers, Students and alumni took place in the Hall of the Postgraduate Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar.

The assessors who attended were Prof. Dr. Eddy Heraldy, M.Si (Sebelas Maret University) and Prof. Ir. Eddy Setiadi Soedjono, Dipl.SE.M.Sc., Ph.D (Nopember Institute of Technology).

Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng., IPU in his remarks expressed his gratitude for the presence of the assessors through this online assessment to provide an assessment of the Environmental Science Masters Study Program and his party also gave appreciation to the Plt Director of Postgraduate and Study Program Coordinators and the staff who had prepared everything so that this accreditation can be done even though it takes place online. Hopefully this accreditation process can run as expected.

"Hopefully later assessors can be present directly at the Postgraduate Program of Udayana University to provide some input both related to accreditation and institutional development at Udayana University, hopefully next time we will have the opportunity for that," said the Rector of Udayana University.

Through this opportunity the Rector also introduced a glimpse of Udayana University which now has 13 Faculties, Postgraduate and 121 Study Programs where 95 percent have been accredited Excellent, Very Good and A as well as institutional development from PTN BLU to PTN-BH. Currently, the Postgraduate Program of Udayana University has 6 Study Programs where previously there were more because now there are Study Programs managed by the Faculty for linearity. The development of the 6 Study Programs managed by the Postgraduate Program is extraordinary and he appreciates it.

The Rector has great hopes for the Master of Environmental Sciences Study Program because in Bali what exists is cultural tourism, in this context the presence of environmental experts is very important so that later it is hoped that the contribution of Unud through the alumni of the Environmental Science Masters can become a partner for developing cultural tourism so that the industry tourism does not overlap with the environment. It is hoped that the Environmental Science Study Program at Unud can oversee how the development of cultural tourism is of course environmentally sound and the tourism industry is not dealing with environmental problems.

While the Assessor Team conveyed that this assessment was a task entrusted by BAN-PT to his party as the Assessor, which had to be carried out but some time ago there was a change in the Assessor Team. During the implementation of the field assessment, what is needed is simple, don't need to be complicated, just show the available evidence, if there are changes to be submitted. During the two days of carrying out this assessment, the Assessor Team will try to capture as well as possible what is shown. This accreditation process is a continuous process, so quality improvement is continuous. As an academic person what must be put forward is honesty, quality improvement which is always carried out so that graduates or learning outcomes can be in accordance with what has been determined.
