UPT Udayana University Library Holds Springer Nature Seminar at Unud "How to Get Published"
UPT Library of Udayana University (Unud) held an online "Springer Nature Seminar at Unud" with the theme "How to Get Published", Thursday (13/4/2023). This activity was attended by around 250 participants consisting of professors, lecturers, master's and doctoral students, librarians and librarians at Udayana University.
This event was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P. As the guest speaker, Ms. Mabel Tang as Director, Key Accounts Customer Engagement Springer Nature and moderator Ms. Wiwi Wiyanti from iGroup Indonesia. On this occasion also presented about "the Useful Tools for Researchers" by Handoko Bagaskara from Springer Nature.
The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs in his remarks said that this activity was not only to reintroduce the Springer Nature e-journal and e-book which had been subscribed to since January 1, 2023, it was also to inform lecturers and Udayana University students step by step how to publish in the Springer journal, tips and tricks, how to make interesting titles and so on. So that in the end the manuscripts owned can be published with good quality.
The seminar also introduced the Springer Journal Suggester to provide suggestions on which journals are suitable for publishing manuscripts written by the academic community of Udayana University and also provided tips on avoiding predatory journals.
According to the Head of UPT Libraries, Dr. Ida Ayu Laksmita Sari, both e-journals and e-books subscribed to by Udayana University have been very well utilized by the Udayana University academic community as evidenced by more than 10,000 downloads per month last March.
Udayana University has subscribed to the Springer Nature E-journal with full access to 2101 journal titles consisting of 3 major subjects namely Science and Technology, Humanities and Social Science, and biomedical and life science and Medicine. And also subscribe to the ebook published in 2022 which is perpetual or permanent for the following 3 subjects, namely biomedical and life Science, Engineering, Law & Criminology.
After this activity it is hoped that not only access to e-journals and e-books Springer Nature will increase, but also quality publications at Udayana University will also increase.
