The Udayana University Alumni Association (IKAYANA) celebrated its 48th anniversary on January 25, 2023. The celebration was held in a simple manner which began with a joint prayer at Widya Maha Amrta Temple, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar. This activity was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs representing the Rector of Udayana University, the Chair and all IKAYANA management. The celebration of the 48th anniversary was marked by the blowing of candles and cutting of tumpeng by the Head of IKAYANA at the RTH area of the Sudirman Campus, Denpasar.
Chairman of IKAYANA Prof. Ir. I Made Supartha Utama, MS.,Ph.D on this occasion said that IKAYANA was founded in 1975 and now this organization still exists and will continue to develop according to the dynamic needs of the alma mater, community and alumni. We have a mission besides providing services and benefits for alumni and IKAYANA members themselves we also have a mission for community development besides making a significant contribution to the alma mater. Each celebration held alumni service activities and also to the community. This time, community service activities were held in the form of social health actions and also a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which was held in Tembok Village, Buleleng Regency. Its activities are filled with counseling about stunting, mental retardation and other diseases including prevention of cervical cancer. While the FGD will be on the topic of restoring the glory of Tejakula oranges and this also happens to be a program of the Provincial Government of Bali.
Besides that, in 2020 a thousand tabah bamboo seedlings were planted for nature conservation on the shores of Lake Buyan and the current results are that the bamboo is reported to be growing quite well. Likewise the bamboo shoots and in this anniversary celebration there will also be counseling on how to develop products from these bamboo shoots. IKAYANA will also formally hand over scholarships to Unud students, where there is already an MoU which will be extended again this year. His party will also always carry out programs that are even more significant to contribute to the almamater.
While the Vice Rector Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, MT., Ph.D., IPU congratulates IKAYANA's 48th anniversary and hopes that with increasing age it can exist even more and contribute more to its alma mater and alumni. IKAYANA is the university's closest partner, where after graduation alumni cannot be separated from their alma mater and continue to contribute. One simple example is in conducting a tracer study by participating in filling out a tracer study. Other contributions can be made in many ways such as scholarships. It is hoped that in the future, IKAYANA will contribute more to the alma mater and establish communication with the alma mater. IKAYANA is already everywhere, but its militancy still needs to be increased so that it becomes more solid and able to play a role for its alma mater and the nation.
