Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University Hosted the Congress of the Indonesian Biology Consortium
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University (FMIPA Unud) is holding a 2022 Science and Technology International Conference (STIC) with the theme "Bridging Mathematics and Physical Science Through Multidisciplinary Research" at the Agrocomplex Building, Campus Sudirman Denpasar.
This conference took place for two days from 16-17 November 2022 which also coincided with the 2022 Indonesian Biology Consortium Congress (KOBI), which was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU.
Chairman of the committee Dra. In his report, Luh Putu Eswaryanti Kusuma Yuni, M.Sc., Ph.D said that this conference aims to bring together leading academics, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Science and Technology. This activity also provides a scientific interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the latest innovations, current issues, trends and challenges faced and solutions adopted in the field of Science and Technology. "We are very proud to be given the valuable opportunity to host this year's Congress of the Indonesian Biology Consortium at Udayana University." he said.
KOBI is an organization that plays an active role in the development of biology higher education in mastering biodiversity and optimal and sustainable utilization of living natural resources for the welfare of humanity. Nearly 250 people from seven countries participated in this conference, namely from the United States, Singapore, Spain, Australia, China, Taiwan and Indonesia. There were four plenary presentations and one hundred and fifty five research abstracts presented at this conference consisting of 61 biology, 25 chemistry, 16 information technology, 14 mathematics, 17 pharmacy, and 22 physics.
Dean of FMIPA Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D said that the conference which was attended by scientists from 6 different countries would present and share and exchange experiences and research results in all aspects of science and technology. "I believe that this conference will be a source of innovative ideas, concepts and breakthroughs in the development of science and technology for the future, to support and fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to change the world for the better." Strictly speaking. The highest gratitude and appreciation is also conveyed to the KOBI team who have entrusted FMIPA Unud to organize this year's congress.
Meanwhile the Rector of Udayana University, who on this occasion was represented by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU in the opening of the congress said that this conference was an upgrade from the annual National Conference held by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. This year, the conference was held to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Udayana University. It is hoped that this conference, which gathers scientists from various disciplines within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, will lead to intense discussions, so that later brilliant ideas can be used to improve the quality of human life, formulated and then published in proceedings or a reputable journal. In addition, this International Conference is also expected to be an ideal forum for communication and sharing of ideas and experiences in the future of MIPA disciplines, as well as a forum for making FMIPA advanced in relation to economic growth and social welfare.
