Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University Holds Bioinformatics Workshop
Masters Program in Agricultural Biotechnology, Masters in Dry Land and Masters in Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University (Unud) held a Bioinformatics Workshop at the Phytopathology Lab, Faculty of Agriculture, AG Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Monday (17/10/2022). As the Workshop Host, namely the Masters Program in Agricultural Biotechnology and attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students who want to know Bioinformatics where knowledge of Bioinformatics is very necessary for jobs related to molecules, how to edit DNA, how to find out all the DNA in the gene bank.
The speakers in the workshop, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Unud) with material on Sequence Management, I Putu Sudiarta, SP., M.Si., Ph.D with material on Molecular Biology and Phylogency Concept and Dewa Gede Wiryangga Selangga, SP., M.Si with Sequence and Phylogeny Analysis material. The workshop will last for one week because in addition to theory, there will be experiments including assignments.
Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, SP., M.Agr as the organizer hopes that after this workshop, students who are researching molecular can use data on gene banks, especially in cloning, identifying plants or microbes can go through this so that in during research it is easy to use the data on the gene bank. Thus, there are more researches that lead to molecular so that we can compete with universities outside Bali and even abroad because research for agriculture is now more towards molecular.
