The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University held the Launching of the Implementation of K3L (Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment) at the Loby of the Faculty of Engineering, Jimbaran Campus, Friday (20/5/2022). This activity is in order to support the International Accreditation of Study Programs within the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University as part of the Internationalization Policy of Udayana University towards World Class University. The launching event was marked by the use of a vest by the Rector to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and ranks and the raising of the K3L flag by the K3L team.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D. in his report, he stated that this activity was in accordance with the vision of the Faculty of Engineering, namely how to implement the Tri Dharma of a sustainable Higher Education which was recognized both nationally and internationally. To get international recognition, of course, we must follow an international evaluation, one of which is international accreditation. Likewise with National accreditation where the Faculty of Engineering will follow the LAM-Engineering Accreditation Institute and LAM-Infokom which emphasizes the importance of implementing K3L at universities or institutions.
Those involved in designing this K3L to compile the document are the taskforce team, all study programs and PLP in each study program. They are the spearhead in dealing with this K3L. He hopes that the K3L culture that will be built at the Engineering Faculty and at the university level can hone students to understand very well what K3L is which will later become a provision for them after graduating and working in outside agencies. This is a long term hope. "Strictly". while in the short term it is to support the internationalization process of existing study programs at the Faculty of Engineering and later also to support the progress of Udayana University itself.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Udayana University expressed his gratitude to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and his staff for initiating K3L at the Faculty of Engineering. "Our directorate does not yet have this unit and we will soon follow it up and we will ask for help with this team at the head office so that later in all faculties and units at Udayana University there will be K3L units," he stressed. In relation to the relevance of K3L, this becomes one of the indicators or requirements when the study program at Unud is programmed for international accreditation. It is hoped that later the program or international accreditation journey at the Faculty of Engineering and other faculties can be streamlined and there is a guarantee that we have done something in accordance with the required parameters of the internationalization program of the accreditation. Hopefully this will have an impact and it is hoped that this will be a lesson learned from other faculties that do not yet have this unit.
