Tamiang Balinese Keyboard Innovation Created by Lecturer of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Udayana University

Rector of Unud Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi accompanied by the Deputy Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information received an audience from the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Deputy Dean and Lecturers at the Rectorate Building, Jimbaran Campus, Wednesday (10/3/2021). This audience was related to an innovative product by the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty Lecturer Team, namely Tamiang Balinese Keyboard which is a set of computer aids used to make it easier to create and write documents based on Balinese characters digitally, so that the results of their writing will be easily shared through digital media such as the Internet and media social. This innovative product was developed by Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha and the Team.

Rector of Unud Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi gave his appreciation for the product produced which is an extraordinary innovation that can carry the name of Udayana University. The leadership of the university is committed to supporting and giving priority to the innovation products that are produced, not to be overtaken by other parties. The university also has regulations regarding the downstreaming of innovation products. The products produced can also help preserve and globalize Balinese script. The Rector also asked the Team to collaborate with the Bali Literature Study Program, FCS Unud, in developing it so that it is hoped that it can also appoint the Study Program.

Cokorda Rai said that this product is in the final testing stage where the target of this product will be the younger generation to be able to write Balinese characters seeing the development of learning that is now digital-based. In addition, the Team is also developing a digital dictionary for the Balinese language.
