FTP Udayana University and Samsara Living Museum Signing a Cooperation Agreement

The Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Made Anom Sutrisna Wijaya, M. App.Sc., Ph.D. who was accompanied by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Mrs. Dr. Sumiyati, S.TP., M.P and the Coordinator of the Information Management and Cooperation Unit, Dr. Dewa Ayu Anom Yuarini, S.TP., M.Agb signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Chairman of the Samsara Living Museum, Ida Bagus Agung Gunarthawa, S.H, which was located on Jalan Telaga Tista, Jungutan, Bebandem District, Karangasem Regency, Bali.

 

This Cooperation Agreement (PKS) aims to establish good cooperation between FTP Unud and the Samsara Living Museum. The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Unud, can carry out the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Education, Research and Community Service) at the Samsara Living Museum. It is hoped this PKS will provide benefits for the Samsara Living Museum in terms of product development processes, sharing knowledge and getting technical guidance in the industrial sector.

 

Samsara Living Museum is a museum located very close to Mount Agung. The concept of this museum is the theme of the human life cycle in Bali. In addition, the Samsara Museum reconstructs a series of Balinese human birth cycles. Where all are framed in rituals and upakara. There are at least 14 series of Hindu ceremonies presented in the form of photos along with explanations and tools in the museum. The museum also offers a variety of daily activities for the local community. One of the activities carried out at this museum is the process of developing the legendary Balinese Arak product. Assistance in the development of Balinese Arak products has been carried out by lecturers at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University.

 

The chairman of the Samsara Living Museum, Ida Bagus Agung Gunarthawa, S.H. hopes that through the collaboration between FTP Unud and the Samsara Living Museum it will be positively established in the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi so that the downstream potential of agricultural-based products such as upakara plants can be developed into quality products that are worthy of being marketed so that they can trigger efforts to conserve and preserve cultural values of Bali that has been abandoned.
