Introducing the Veterinary Profession, FKH Udayana Helds Veterinary Work Lecture 2022
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University held the 34th Veterinary Work Lecture (Kuliah Kerja Veteriner (KKV)) with the theme: "Sewagati Aryaguna Sangkara". After going through several weeks of preparation, we arrived at the first series of Veterinary Work Lecture Activities, namely First Gathering (14/01). "This activity aims to provide information to KKV participants regarding things that must be prepared and their assignments, such as technical meetings." Said Wayan Sangi as Chair of the Activity Committee. For the smooth running of the D-day activities, the committee has prepared a special day to provide supplies to the 2022 Veterinary Work Lecture participants regarding how to communicate when going to the field. Not only communication material, participants also received material about the Student Creativity Program (Program Kreativtias Mahasiswa (PKM)) which was one of the outputs of this activity. This briefing activity (19/01) invited three speakers at once, namely Dr. drh. Hapsari Mahatmi, MP, drh. I Wayan Nico Fajar Gunawan, M.Si, and drh. Putu Henrywaesa Sudipa, M.Si
The main event of the implementation of the Veterinary Work Lecture is held on January 22 to 24, 2022. The main of the KKV activity is carried out with the strict Covid-19 Health Protocol Magament. The opening of the Veterinary Work Lecture took place at the Balai Banjar Field of Pelaga Village, Petang District, Badung Regency which was attended by the dean, supervisors, Pelaga Village officials, and representatives of the Agriculture and Food Service of Badung Regency, as well as representatives of Petang Animal Health Center, Department of Agriculture and Food, (22 January 2022). The Veterinary Work Lecture activity was officially opened symbolically by giving nametags to the Veterinary Work Lecture participants by Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University. The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, in his remarks reminded the participants of the outcomes that must be achieved, namely in the form of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and the importance of having public insight.
The Veterinary Work Lecture (KKV) activity is packaged with several series including livestock data collection on the first day, then followed by internship activities at community farms, outbound, and intimate evening on the second day, and ends with mutual cooperation on the third day.
This year's Veterinary Work Lecture is divided into 15 groups, each group is accompanied by one supervisor. When collecting livestock data, each cluster is divided into several small groups to make it easier for participants to collect livestock data. Participants also visited each house to conduct brief interviews regarding livestock or pets owned by residents. The livestock data collection activity lasted for three hours and ended with the collection of livestock data forms to each person in charge of the cluster.
The next day, the activity continued with an internship at a resident's farm. This internship activity aims as a form of service to the local community as well as training participants in how to communicate when they go to the field. "During the internship, we conduct interviews with farmers, help with feeding, and are given a look at the process of cutting grass using machines there," said Olivya Okky as a participant of the 2022 Veterinary Work Lecture. After the internship, participants were invited to do outbound, this activity was divided into five posts that must be passed by participants, each post contains games that must be followed by participants. "The response when outbound was wrong with expectations, I thought I would be angry, it turned out to be really exciting. This is one of the most enjoyable activities,” said I Made Yudhara as a participant of the 2022 Veterinary Work Lecture.
The second day's activities ended with an equally exciting agenda, namely the implementation of a night of creativity. Each group in turn presents a performance, ranging from drama, flashmob, and pantomime. The creativity night ended with the awarding of prizes for the best performing arts, the best chants, the best clusters, and the most solid groups.
The Veterinary Work Lecture activity ended with mutual cooperation in cleaning the surrounding area and continued with a symbolic closure which was attended by the Head of the Petang Animal Health Center, the Department of Agriculture and Food, Pelaga Village Headquarters and village officials, as well as the supervisor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University.
