Udayana Technique Serves Planning Supervision of the Restoration of the Penegil Dharma Temple, Buleleng

In an effort to preserve cultural heritage, the Udayana Mengabdi Engineering team has carried out community service activities Planning Supervision of the Restoration of the Penegil Dharma Buleleng Temple on the week of January 28 2024. This activity aims to plan and supervise the restoration and conservation process of one of the important historical sites in Bali, namely the Penegil Temple Dharma is located in Buleleng Regency.


Penegil Dharma Temple has high historical and cultural value for the Balinese people. However, along with changing times and environmental factors, the physical condition of the temple has deteriorated and requires restoration in accordance with the principles of conservation of cultural heritage buildings.


In order to support this conservation effort, the community service team consisting of lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University carried out a series of activities. First, they conducted an in-depth study of the physical condition of the temple, including analysis of the building structure, materials and surrounding environmental conditions.


Then, based on the results of the study, the team designed a restoration plan that took into account technical and cultural aspects. This includes selecting materials that suit the original characteristics of the temple, restoration methods that pay attention to the preservation of the building structure, as well as monitoring efforts during the restoration process.


This community service activity does not only focus on technical aspects, but also involves the active participation of the local community in the restoration process. Through a participatory approach, it is hoped that the community can be more involved in efforts to preserve their own cultural heritage.


By implementing the Supervision Planning activities for the restoration of the Penegil Dharma Buleleng Temple, this shows their commitment to serving the community and playing an active role in preserving and developing the nation's cultural heritage. It is hoped that this effort can make a positive contribution in maintaining cultural sustainability and diversity in Indonesia, especially on the Island of the Gods, Bali.
