Assistance in Poultry Vaccine Research by Virologists FKH UNUD with PT. Sanbio Laboratories
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, has again signed a Collaboration Activity with PT Sanbio Laboratories. Collaboration with the multinational Poultry Vaccine factory industry PT Sanbio Laboratories under Person in charge (PIC) Prof.Drh. Drh Gusti Ayu Yuniati Kencana, MP has been in office since 2013 and regularly conducts research on poultry vaccines. This time the topic was "Assistance to Monoclonal Antibody Research" with expert Prof. Drh. I Nyoman Mantik Astawa, PhD, is no stranger to this field.
The activity will last for three days at PT Sanbio Laboratories, Bogor, while the mentoring practice will last for four months at the FKH Immunology Laboratory in Denpasar. The event started on January 15-17 2024 at PT Sanbio Laboratories with a presentation of material on Monoclonal Antibodies and How to Make Them by Prof. Dr. Drh. I Nyoman Mantik Astawa, PhD, which was attended by participants from: Head Factory, and R&D PT Sanbio Laboratories. On the second day the activity continued with the Practice of Making Chicken Embryo Fibroblast (CEF) Cells at the BSL-3 Laboratory of PT. Sanbio. In the afternoon, a discussion was held regarding the Collaboration Plan for Making Gumboro Virus Monoclonal Antibodies.
At the end of the activity, the signing of the Collaboration Agreement for Monoclonal Antibody Research was signed between Mrs. Steffi Ong B.Sc (Hons), Deputy Director of PT Sanbio Laboratories, and Prof. Dr Drh Mantik Astawa, PhD as the organizer of the activity accompanied by the Person in Charge Prof. Dr Drh. Gusti Ayu Yuniati Kencana, MP representing the Dean of FKH Udayana.
The practical internship activity for making monoclonal antibodies will be attended by two R&D staff of PT Sanbio Laboratories, lasting for four months at the Udayana FKH Immunology Laboratory. This activity is expected to provide great benefits in vaccine development and early detection of poultry diseases in Indonesia.
