Increasing Understanding of Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder Patients, FK Unud Invites Professors from Malaysia

 

 

 

In order to increase competence, knowledge and understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, the Psychiatric Medicine Specialist Study Program, FK Unud held an online International Guest Lecture activity on November 24 2023 with the topic: "Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder". This activity is held regularly. become a means of developing knowledge, especially in the field of mental medicine, especially regarding Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder.

 

 

 

Presenting speakers from Universiti Putra Malaysia, namely Prof. Dr. Hjh. Firdaus Mukhtar, this event was attended by more than 170 participants consisting of students, lecturers and alumni of the Mental Medicine Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, teaching staff and mental health practitioners from other institutions. It is hoped that through this lecture, participants will gain understanding and updated knowledge from teachers from outside Udayana University, so that they can treat mental disorder patients better. To assess understanding and increase participants' enthusiasm, a pre-test was also carried out at the beginning of the session, discussion and post-test at the end of the session.

 

 

 

This event began with a report from the chairman of the organizing committee, namely Dr. I Gusti Ayu Indah Ardani, Sp.K.J., Subsp.A.R.(K)., and officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes. He expressed his appreciation to the Psychiatric Medicine Specialist Study Program for holding scientific activities in order to improve shared knowledge. “In order to handle mental health problems better, observation and learning are needed. One of the skills that can be learned is Dialectical Behavior Therapy. "I hope that through this guest lecture, all participants can increase their knowledge and understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as improve their skills and practice with patients with Borderline Personality Disorder," he said.
