TPB Unud Students Successfully Design “Tomatify”, an Application for Detecting Diseases in Tomatoes Using Machine Learning
Luh Putri Apriliani, a student of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University with her group namely Komang Deny Triana, Hana Octavia Trinida Malo, I Wayan Bharatayasa, Ni Made Lia Ari Widana and Ketut Wii Artawan succeeded in designing the Mobile App "Tomatify" .
Tomatify is an application (mobile app) that can detect diseases in tomatoes using machine learning. Tomatify is a capstone project after participating in the wake program organized by Google, GoTo, Travelola and PT. Dicoding Indonesian Academy. This application has been tested in the Kintamani area, Bangli, Bali, where there was a significant decrease in tomato production due to the limitations of tomato farmers in identifying diseases in these tomato plants. The accuracy of tomato disease detection by Tomatify reaches 92%.
Luh Putri Apriliani, who is often called Putri, said that this application was made with the aim of making it easier for farmers to detect diseases, especially in tomatoes. She also hopes that this application can be used by many farmers in Bali, especially tomato farmers. In addition, she said the Tomatify video can be seen on YouTube, namely at the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YiEp2RHz9M, she said.
