Poverty is a major problem and is being faced by developing countries including Indonesia. As a multi-dimensional social phenomenon, poverty is not only related to the economic dimension, but also related to structural, psychological, cultural, ecological problems and other factors. The Indonesian government, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda, places poverty reduction, welfare, and gender equality as one of the goals that must be achieved.

 

On this happy occasion Wednesday 18 January 2023 promovendus Kadek Rai Suwena, S.Pd.,M.Pd. delivered a dissertation on the topic: Time Allocation and Subjective Welfare of Female Farmers in Songan Village, Kintamani, Bangli Regency, where the aims of this study were: 1) to examine and explain the differences in the time locations for earning a living for female farmers and their husbands in Songan Village; 2) test and explain differences in total time location (public and domestic sector) of female farmers and their husbands in Songan Village; 3) examine and explain the effect of self-esteem (self-esteem), social support, and gender equality on the job satisfaction of female farmers in Songan Village; 4) examine and explain the effect of self-esteem (self-esteem), social support, gender equality, and job satisfaction directly on the subjective well-being of female farmers in Songan Village; and 5) examine and explain the effect of self-esteem (self-esteem), social support, and gender equality on subjective well-being through job satisfaction of female farmers in Songan Village.

The results of this study are: 1) there are differences in the allocation of time to work for a living between female farmers and their husbands in Songan Village; 2) there is a difference in the allocation of total working time (working in the public and domestic sectors) between female farmers and their husbands in Songan Village; 3) there is a significant influence between self-esteem variables and social support on the job satisfaction of female farmers in Songan Village, but not the gender equality variable; 4) self-esteem, social support, and gender equality directly have a significant effect on the subjective well-being of female farmers in Songan Village; and 5) self-esteem and social support have a significant effect on Subjective well-being mediated by job satisfaction variables.

 

The Doctoral Promotion Session was held offline, where the Promoter of Promovendus was Prof. Dr. Drs. Made Kembar Sri Budhi, M.P, and Co-promoter Prof. Dr. dr. Ida Ayu Nyoman Saskara, M.Si and Co-Promotor II are Dr. I Nyoman Mahaendra Yasa, S.E., M.Si. This exam was led by the Head of the Session who on this occasion was led by the Coordinating Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Yuliarmi, S.E., M.P. Promovendus is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Ganesha University of Education. Promovendus successfully passed the exam with the title of Very Satisfactory.
