TURTLE GUARD ON THE GO 2022: INTRODUCTION TO STANDED AQUATIC ANIMAL RESCUE PROCEDURES

Turtle Guard On The Go is one of the annual routine activities carried out by the Turtle Guard Professional Interest. This activity is aimed at the general public, especially those living in coastal areas, and this year it is held specifically for elementary school students. This activity was held offline on Saturday, 19 November 2022 in the SDN 1 Canggu, with the theme "Introduction to Stranded Aquatic Animal Rescue Procedures". This activity received funding the Turtle Guard Professional Interest and sponsorship from the Bali Exotic Marine Park, with a total of 24 participants consisting of 4th grade students at SDN 1 Canggu, and 29 organizing committee members.

 

 


The Turtle Guard On The Go 2022 activity began with an opening by the Master of Ceremonies, namely a joint prayer, reports from the committee chairman, remarks, and was officially opened by the Principal of SDN 1 Canggu, and continued with material presentation and demonstration of rescue procedures by Nurul Audy Baiqhaq Fathonah, as well as awarding certificates to speakers and the school. After the main activities were carried out, the activity continued with a games session (making origami) and taking a group photo between the committee and Turtle Guard On The Go participants.

By holding the Turtle Guard On The Go 2022 activity, it is hoped that students can be educated from an early age on procedures for rescue, handling and also the obstacles that will be encountered in dealing with stranded aquatic animals, so that students will receive basic knowledge on how to rescue stranded aquatic animals along with the appropriate rescue procedures, and ultimately they can help the community in dealing with stranded aquatic animals.
