FTP Udayana Holds First Offline National Seminar After the Pandemic, Presents the Deputy Governor of Bali as Keynote Speaker

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University (FTP Unud) has held a National Seminar of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and the Exhibition of Innovation Products in the context of the 38th Anniversary and 28th BK on October 14th-15th 2022 in the Postgraduate Building Hall 3rd Floor Sudirman-Denpasar Campus with the theme " Agricultural Technology Innovation in Realizing Sustainable National Food Independence in the Era of Society 5.0”. The activity lasted for 2 days which was attended by 100 Oral Presenter Participants from various universities in Indonesia. The presentation was divided into several schemes, namely Agriculture and Environmental Product Development, Smart Farming, Agricultural Product Engineering, Food and Health, Agricultural Product Supply and Value Chain, and Increasing added value in agricultural by-products. In addition, there is also a poster competition for the student category and an Exhibition of Agricultural Technology Innovation Products, both food and non-food. Exhibitors are products of innovation from students, lecturers, SMEs or industries in the food and non-food sectors.

 

The National Seminar was opened by the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng. IPU., followed by presenting the Keynote Speaker, namely the Deputy Governor of Bali Prof. Dr. Ir. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, M.Sc. Mr. Deputy Governor of Bali who is familiarly called Mr. Tjok Ace said that innovation in Agricultural Technology is needed so that Bali does not only rely on tourism and young Balinese are interested in pursuing modern agriculture.

 

After the opening of the seminar, all invitations were directed to the Udayana University Green Open Space to open the Innovation Product Exhibition of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. The exhibition was officially opened, marked by the cutting of the ribbon by the Deputy Governor of Bali, the Rector of Udayana University, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University and the Chairperson of the DWP of Udayana University, Mrs. Dayu Bulan Antara. The exhibition presents innovative products from students and also lecturers of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and also SMEs who also support.

 

On the first day of the seminar, a session was prepared for students by presenting speaker Ida Bagus Dharma Yoga Santosa, S.TP., M.Si from PT. Coca Cola and Rully Alfiansyah from PT. Nutrifood Indonesia who shared the Overview of product development and Entrepreneur Mindset in Agro Industry. On the second day, there were 5 keynote speakers who were very experts in the field of Agricultural Technology consisting of Prof. Christofora Hanny Wijaya from Bogor Agricultural University who brought material related to Observing the Potential Role of Functional Food in Responding to Sustainable National Food Independence, Prof. Drs. Gede Bayu Suparta, M.S., Ph.D. from Gadjah Mada University who brought material related to Strengthening Technology to Support Agricultural Technology Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadikaria Purwadaria, IPm who brought material related to Innovation: Research and Technology Results into Commercial Products, Dr. Ansar, S.Pd., M.P., M.Pd. from the University of Mataram who brought material related to the Optimization of Alsintan to Realize Food Self-reliance in Indonesia and Dr. M. Fuad F. Mu'tamar, S.TP., M.Sc., IPM. From Trunojoyo University Madura who brought material related to Agricultural Technology Innovation Based on Local Potential for Increasing Food Self-reliance.

 

In addition, the winners of the poster competition at the FTP Udayana National Seminar in 2022 were also announced, namely Fransiska Felicia Handoko, Maureen Avelline and Rachel Meiliawati Yoshari from Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya with the poster title namely Innovation of Tempeh Flour Koro Sword (Canavalia ensiformis) as Food Healthy Locals to Support the Achievement of Indonesian Food Independence and continued with an oral presentation which was divided into 6 breakout rooms according to the scheme of each research.

 

 

Rector of Udayana Univeristy, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng. IPU. Very appreciative of the activities carried out, he also said that he would seek building facilities for the Faculty of Agricultural Technology in 2023 in order to concentrate teaching and learning activities and other activities at Udayana University Bukit Jimbaran and hoped that all study programs at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology could achieve excellent accreditation and be accredited internationally.
