Students of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University Win Gold in the 2022 World Invention and Technology Expo (WINTEX)

The Udayana University Student Group, which is a combination of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine, won a gold medal in the 2022 World Invention and Technology Expo (WINTEX). The activity, which was held at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Udayana University, Jimbaran, Bali on 30-31 October 2022, is a competition international scale with the theme Scientific Research, Invention, and Innovation, Theme: “Inno-fun-tion for Everyone” Promoting The Importance of Innovation for Everyone, organized by the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA).

 

 

The group of students guided by Prof. I Wayan Widhiada, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D consists of 5 group members, 3 people from the Faculty of Engineering namely I Gede Febri Bala Antara I Made Putra Arya Winata, Ketut Tri Andika Ariana and 2 people from the Faculty of Medicine, namely Putu Emilia Dewi and Ni Putu Eka Frastika Sari. They managed to beat other groups of students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia, Romania, and Egypt.

 

 

The invention is a prototype of a glaucoma risk monitoring tool called "Glassist". Glassist was designed and tested directly at Prof dr I G.N.G. Ngoerah with the assistance of an ophthalmologist, dr. I Gusti Ayu Ratna Suryaningrum, M. Biomed, Sp.M. It is hoped that the prototype will be ready to be developed with the integration of Machine Learning in helping to monitor Glaucoma patients from their respective homes, without having to come to the hospital.

 

 

According to I Gede Febri Bala Antara, "This competition is a valuable experience to develop our ideas and make a big impact on the community". This achievement is expected to be a good example to encourage other students to continue to explore their creativity in producing innovative works.
