FKH Unud Received an Internship Visit from the School of Veterinary Medicine Murdoch University Australia.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) of Udayana University received Lecturers and Students of School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) Murdoch University Australia (19/9/2022) located in the Meeting Room on the 1st floor of FVM Unud Sudirman. Eight students of the Murdoch University School of Veterinary Medicine who were accompanied by an Advisor Dr,.Charlotte Oskam were accepted by Dr. drh. I Wayan Sudira, M.Si as the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Information and Cooperation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Unud and Prof. Dr. drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Si as Mobility Key Laision, in addition to that the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Planning, Coordinator of the Veterinary Bachelor Study Program, Coordinator of the Information Management and Cooperation Unit, and the FVM Unud Foreign Cooperation team were also present. In addition, Dr. Jennifer Hood and the Animal Australia team.
This admission activity is part of the New Colombo Plan: One Health Practicum and Internship in Indonesia activities. This activity is a continuation of the collaboration between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University and the School of Veterinary Medicine Murdoch University. On this occasion Dr. Sudira expressed his welcome and thanks to Murdoch University for choosing FVM Udayana as their intership location. This collaborative activity is very important, especially in the field of veterinary medicine in building networks in the One Health sector. It is hoped that this activity will benefit both parties. On this occasion Dr. Jennifer as a facilitator said that this internship is a good opportunity for cultural exchange from both parties. Furthermore, he conveyed that he was very impressed with the application of the tri hita karana concept in Bali.
The New Colombo Plan: One Health Practicum and Internship activities are Internship activities held by the Australian Government in selected places. Dr. Oskam as the assistant lecturer said that this activity had been initiated from 2019 and was originally planned to be carried out in 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak so that it could only be carried out in 2022. There were 8 students who took part in this activity and 30 candidates were selected. More Dr. Oskam added that apart from exchanges in the field of science, the participants could also experience social and cultural life directly in the field so that they could learn new things when they returned to Australia.
