Visit of Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta to the Faculty of Engineering Discusses Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Benchmarking
On August 29, 2022 Civil Engineering Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta paid a visit to the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University. The Civil Engineering Undergraduate Study Program received a warm welcome at the dean's building, lt. 3 courtrooms 2. This visit discussed OBE (Outcome Based Education) and Benchmarking that had been implemented at Civil Engineering, Atma Jaya University, Yogyakarta. In addition, this visit discussed the PKKM grants, MBKM and collaborations that have been carried out such as UIP and UK Petra. The visit from Civil Engineering University Atma Jaya Yogyakarta was represented by two lecturers, namely Mr. Gumbert and Mr. William. And this activity was attended by Mr. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University), Mrs. Ir. Ida Ayu Made Budiwati, MSc., Ph.D (Koprodi Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University) and lecturers from the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University.
This visit is an excellent opportunity to share information and strategies that have been carried out by Civil Engineering at Atma Jaya University, Yogyakarta, which has received IABEE GA Accreditation. IABEE General Accreditation (GA) is provided for Study Programs who wish to obtain international substantial equivalent recognition through IABEE accreditation. Study programs that wish to apply for evaluation in order to obtain GA accredited status must first meet the eligibility requirements as stipulated in the Rules and Procedures for Evaluation and Accreditation (RPEA) sub-chapter 2.3.1 document. In the discussion session between Civil Engineering, Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta and Civil Engineering at Udayana University, Prof. Ir. Putu Alit Suthanaya, ST., M.EngSc, Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Udayana University. The implementation of the Civil Engineering OBE at Udayana University, namely, Basic Science, the implementation of the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) contained in Graduate Learning Outcomes and the assessment of Subject Learning Outcomes in general are being carried out. From the experience of Atma Jaya University providing input such as the Independent Professional Profile, what is meant is the achievement of graduates in working outside and having competencies according to industry needs to be achieved. When Atma Jaya University implemented this IABEE, students who had graduated from college but did not pass the Subject Learning Outcomes in the course, Atma Jaya University called on students to repeat the course.
Communication and the establishment of the visit are very important. "Hopefully, the readiness that we have carried out so far we can continue to improve, and the experience from Atma Jaya University to Civil Engineering at Udayana University, we can apply in order to achieve GA IABEE" said Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D. as dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University. Through this activity, it is expected to be able to equalize perceptions and get directions and understanding related to General Accreditation. By participating in IABEE accreditation, it is hoped that the competitiveness of graduates will be better nationally and internationally.
