Reviewing the International Cooperation Program, VTH Udayana received a visit from the Animals Australia and Animals International Team.


The Udayana Teaching Animal Hospital received a visit from the Animals Australia (AA) and Animals International Team on Tuesday 23 August 2022. The arrival of the Animal Australia team was led by Dr. Jennifer Hood, BSc. Hons. BVMS, Ph.D. He was warmly welcomed by the Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. drh. I Ketut Puja, M.Kes, accompanied by the Deputy Director for General Administration and Finance, Drh. AA Gede Oka Darmayudha. The purpose of this visit is to find out the development of the international service work program between Animal Australia and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Udayana.

 

To Dr. Jennifer Hood, BSc. Hons. BVMS, Ph.D. the director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Udayana University explained the development of the service program that had been carried out. Until now, many of the medical services that have utilized the AA program have come from underprivileged communities or neglected pet lovers. Until now, Prof. Puja said that there had been no user complaints about the services at VTH. Even a breakthrough program, namely mobile clinics, will also be carried out in the near future. The purpose of this program is to bring services closer to people in need.

This is the first visit from the Animal Australia Team to the international service program for the period 2022-2023. On this occasion, Dr. Jennifer Hood, BSc. Hons. BVMS, Ph.D as Veterinary Director of Animals Australia and Animals International praised the services at VTH which were said to be very satisfying. He got this from the catch on social media about medical services at the VTH that utilize the AA program. On that occasion also Dr. Jennifer Hood, BSc. Hons. BVMS, Ph.D. explained several important issues to be applied to this international service program for 2022-2023. Dr. Jennifer Hood, BSc. Hons. BVMS, Ph.D also made an offer to VTH staff to take part in a special specialist program in the field of anaesthesia. This is important considering that this field is very necessary for the community of pet owners, especially when they have to put their animals to anesthetized.

 


According to Prof. Puja, from the meeting that was held there were several interesting things for the future, namely Cooperation in increasing human resource capacity at the VTH. In addition, also this September, Animal Australia will invite experts in the field of parasitology who will provide knowledge related to the handling of parasitic diseases in pets. After traveling around to see the activities of handling patients at the VTH, the visit of the Animal Australia team ended with a group photo.
