Student Executive Board (BEM) Of Faculty Of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University Has Animal Feeding Activities: Small Help That Means Big
The Student Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM)) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) of Udayana University held an Animal Feeding activities for monkeys in the Monkey Forest (Sangeh) with the aim of introducing and showing a concern for Sangeh Tourism which had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tuesday (16/8), all members of BEM FVM held an Animal Feeding activities by donating feed like corn, bananas, cassava, and peanuts. "Sangeh tourism is one of the tourism hearts that builds Bali's economy. For more than two years the covid-19 pandemic has hit Indonesia, especially Bali, Sangeh tourism has experienced a decline in visitors, which automatically affects the amount of feeding the monkeys in sangeh. Therefore, we, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, which is engaged in Community Service, have taken the initiative to donate feed while providing education to the younger generation (volunteers),” explained Bendesa Dwi Kartika Ganggeswara as Chair of the Committee for Animal Feeding Activities in this August.
Members of the community service division of BEM FVM seem to be preparing food to be given to monkeys in Sangeh, Monkey Forest, in the form of 2 sacks of corn, cut into small pieces so that it is easy for the monkeys to eat.
At 09.00 WITA, BEM members with Volunteers went to Sangeh Monkey Forest to carry out activities. I Gusti Ngurah Jagad Anom Ksatria as one of the members of the BEM FVM in the field of Community Service explained the technical and regulations that must be obeyed while at the location according to the provisions set by the Sangeh management.
This activity was quite successful because all the feed that had been prepared went home without residue, and the volunteers seemed very enthusiastic about this activity. "This is a sense of gratitude and pride for me, seeing the enthusiasm of FVM friends and the younger generation of FVM with a total of more than 30 enthusiastic people to help make this activity a success, hopefully in the future this Animal Feeding activity will not only target tourist areas, but other areas." those who need help, Astungkara, thank you,” concluded Bendesa Dwi when asked about his opinion on Animal Feeding Activities.
The Animal Feeding Activities from the FVM BEM were held on the basis of concern for tourist areas affected by Covid-19 as well as educating the young generation of FVM about the world of veterinarians. Even if we just give a little help, other people will still be helped even if they are not seen.
