Veterinary English Club 1st General Lecture

 
 
 
Interests and Talents Division Veterinary English Club (VEC) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University held a General Lecture with the theme "Level Up Public Speaking: One Skill for All Professions" on Saturday (16/7) by inviting speakers from the Language Ambassador Bali Province, Ni Komang Ernayanti, S.IP.
 
 
"I am very enthusiast to see students eagerly wanting to increase their capacity," remarks the Veterinary English Club (VEC) supervisor, drh. Tri Komala Sari, MS, Ph.D., gave a fresh start in the opening session of the first formal activity of the VEC.
 
This activity is an annual activity and is included in the second activity in 2022 held by VEC. The event was held online through the Cisco Webex Meeting and brought a theme with the nuances of Public Speaking. Ni Komang Ernayanti, S.IP, familiarly called Kak Erna, shared experiences and some basic knowledge about Public Speaking. Bringing a lecture on how Public Speaking can deliver the required information through the audience's attention was the main point. Not only that, Kak Erna's partner in her experience in the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program, Jesse- Lee William Dass, was also present as a special guest in this general lecture.
 
 
 
 
This activity was well received and also supported by a quiz session with prizes that attracted more enthusiasm from the participants. "The VEC General Lecture this time was really exciting, especially the presentation of the material was fun, plus there were guest stars from abroad who opened up opportunities for us as participants to be able to interact even though it was held online and didn't reduce the meaning and benefits of this event," said Ni Putu Surya Wiradnyani, one of the participants in this lecture.
 
This activity shows that it brings new insights to the participants who take part in this activity. It is hoped that the implementation of this activity specifically for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine can increase the capacity of students in Public Speaking.
 
 
 
"I hope, especially in the Veterinary English Club, to produce individuals who can compete at the national or international level," the hope expressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Sc, indicated that the purpose of this activity was to open up opportunities for students to excel in the national and international arenas through English as a medium of communication.
